Spanish is the widely spoken language in Miami due to the largest ethnic groups is the white Hispanics and the white Caucasians as its mentioned in Miami on map. Currently, the city has adopted Spanish as a mother language replacing English. Most of the city everyday life activities are carried out in Spanish, from home to the banks, and all other commercial businesses are in Spanish. Information is also written and presented in Spanish. Although English remains official language of Miami, English speakers make up only 30% of the population while those who speak some other mother language like German, Swedish, French and Asians make up 2% of the whole population. Thus most people are forced to learn Spanish whether they are Latinos, Hispanic or not.

 

A tropical climate helps to make Miami one of America great winter resorts, and tourism is a major component of the city economy. The city is served by a highway network that includes the Dixie Highway, Tamiami Trail, and Florida Turnpike.
